Wow. What an amazing trip. Beyond our expectations. This was with the BMW I8 group. We had wanted to travel with this group for a number of years and finally did. Apparently the rest of the group made that decision years ago because they all knew each other! Well we did our best to catch up and made some good friends in short order. The beauty of the Azores: So green, inviolate, water, ocean, cows, vegetation, geothermal pools, very nice people (Food was above average but not incredible). We just stuck to the main island (although there are many others to go, the main one was so pretty and had everything you could want, no need to fly around to others, at least on our first visit). They speak Portugese, but most of them speak fine English. It is pretty cheap there. Being a part of Portugal they use the Euro. A great 3 course dinner with some wine was about $150 / relative to US pretty cheap! Nice hotels $150-$200/night.
